At Alan, professional development is not just a perk, it is part of how we work.
Building a career usually means choosing between staying somewhere familiar or leaving for something new. At Alan, we believe you should not have to make that choice. This article explores how we make it possible for people to evolve, take on new challenges, and shape their own path, all within the same company.
One of our core values is professional development: we are all responsible for helping our team members grow. This rests on 3 pillars:
What makes Alan stand out: all roles are open internally by default. Any Alaner who has proven their impact can genuinely apply for a new path within the company.
At some point, don't you run out of new things to explore? 🤔
Far from it! At Alan, we move as fast as we reimburse our members. ⚡
Take a week off, and you will come back to a slightly different company: new initiatives have launched, new areas have opened up, new people have arrived with fresh perspectives. There is always a new skill to build, a new challenge pulling you forward, a new door to push open.
The only thing that is certain is that you will never be short of something new to discover. 😛
When a role opens up at Alan, it is posted internally first. Any Alaner with at least one year of tenure and a strong track record can apply directly through our internal career site.
This is also where coaches play a key role: they actively identify opportunities that could be a great fit and encourage Alaners to put themselves forward, even when self-doubt gets in the way.
From there, it follows a real recruitment process:
The process is transparent, as with everything at Alan. Whatever the outcome, you always know where you stand and why.
What makes internal mobility at Alan truly exciting is its breadth. A lateral move into an entirely different domain, a step-up into a leadership role, a shift into a function you never imagined yourself in — all of it is possible, and all of it has already happened.
And we have countless stories to tell about it... 😊

Eva Dias Michon
She joined the Care team in 2022 and wasted no time making her mark, earning a level promotion along the way. The logical next step? Leading the crew she once joined as a Care Expert. Eva did not climb the ladder so much as build it.
Jules Poulet
Jules treated Alan like a personal adventure map. Care France, then Belgium as a Care Expert, then Product Specialist for Belgium and Spain. Three moves in, and something tells us he is not done yet.
Maï-thi Van Cong Trang
Maï-thi joined Care in 2021 with a talent for making complexity feel manageable. Four years later, she brought that exact skill set to Ops community. Turns out, caring for members and coordinating operations require more of the same instincts than you might think.
Jessica Segura
Jessica spent years inside Alan's Care community, quietly becoming one of the most product-savvy people in the room. Two Non-Key Account renewal campaigns later, her passion for account management was impossible to ignore. She is now Key Account Manager in Spain, turning deep product knowledge into a superpower for client relationships.
Alexandre Renault
When a new Workforce Specialist role opened up within Care, Alexandre did not just apply, he auditioned. Four months of hands-on work later, the fit was undeniable. He is now officially Care Specialist - Workforce, with the receipts to prove he earned it.
Margot Debure
Margot built Alan's Care Hiring function from the ground up and left it so solid it no longer needed her. She took that as her cue. She is now part of the Talent Community, ready to extend her expertise well beyond Care. When your work runs itself, it is probably time for a new challenge.
Marie Giffard
Marie went from Care Expert in Europe to Alan's very first Care presence in Canada, which is simultaneously a career move and a transatlantic adventure. A former English teacher with deep care expertise, a strong build mindset, and genuine enthusiasm for relocating to Toronto, she crossed an ocean to bring Alan's care standards to a brand-new market. Canada, meet Alan.
The stories shared in this article are just a glimpse of what internal mobility looks like at Alan.
Internal mobility is not just a policy at Alan. It is something that has shaped real careers, opened unexpected doors, and allowed people to grow in ways they did not anticipate when they first joined.
Behind each one is a person who took a chance, a coach who encouraged them, and a company that made it possible.
If there is one thing these journeys have in common, it is this: at Alan, your first role is rarely your last. The best part? The stories keep coming. And yours could be next!
